Apathy has no place here. For those few who said that the Parish Plan was a waste of time because we would not get the support from the village, we are pleased to announce that you were wrong. You do care and you are interested in what your village is and what you would like it to be in the future. This is evident from the level of response, which reached an 89.1% return rate which is phenomenal The steering group would like to thank you for your enthusiasm and making what could have been an onerous task, a pleasant experience. It gave us all an opportunity to meet our neighbours. And that has got to help community spirit. A little patience is needed by you now. The task of inputting all your answers in a computer so that we can analyse what you are telling us is huge. Each questionnaire takes about 20 minutes to enter and there are over 340 of them! If you do the maths you'll see it will take some time. The interpretation of the figures will also be studied over a number of meetings to produce The Plan. Probably in October, an open day/evening will be held offering you the opportunity to see where we are in the process. You can ask questions of the Group members,, make comments and generally discuss your views in an informal atmosphere. Various items have arisen from your answers and so we are able to ask you some questions too. This will be a very light presentation and intend for everyone to have some fun. This will be when the Prize Draw is made. If you are there when the draw is made, you can take your cash with you! The printed copies of the Parish Plan are expensive to produce, so during this exhibition of progress you will be asked to give us your details if you want a printed copy of the Marham Parish Plan. We wouldn't want them to become drinks coasters or lining for the cat litter tray, so only those who would really like one would get one. Final publication of the Plan is scheduled for December and a synopsis will be added to the web site and Proposed and Seconded.

Parish Plan Latest.

One year on from the formation of Steering Group, progress is steadily being made towards completion. There have been some surprises within the data gathered though some results were as expected. We are currently at the stage of using the all the information to create a report that should accurately reflect your concerns and aspirations. When this is completed, an Action Plan will be determined. This will be the most important part of the Parish Plan. The Action Plan, when completed, should improve the quality of living in Marham. The Action Plan will contain short, medium and long term strategies. Some actions should only take a few weeks, while the bolder initiatives may take a couple of years. We know that some of you are discussing the Parish Plan among yourselves which is encouraging. We value the views from you and all the Marham residents that responded and so we must ensure that we analyse thoroughly the information you have given us. Please be patient a little longer for completion, it will be worth it. We would like to complete everything by the next distribution of Proposed & Seconded but we will not rush to finish. It is more important to get it right first time! A "potted" version will be included in the P & S after completion for those that have not requested the full document.
